More Info
- For more information on how to utilize the full suite of NodeClientLite features, please refer to the help provided within the software.
The NodeClientLite application, developed by Windsor Solutions, provides a simple and user-friendly interface to the Exchange Network.
The NodeClientLite provides the following benefits:
- Provides an understandable, easy to use interface for interacting with Nodes on the Exchange Network.
- Assists in testing the development and implementation of an Exchange Network Node.
- Offers a semi-automated alternative to a fully functioning Exchange Network Node that allows users to submit XML documents to or download XML documents from a partner Node.
The Exchange Network has matured over the past few years and the potential uses of a Node client application has also increased. The NodeClientLite application streamlines the main uses of Exchange Network while incorporating several key features that did not exist in previous versions:
- New, streamlined functionality - Rather than focusing on the WSDL-driven primitive methods defined by the Network Node specifications, the new NodeClientLite user interface is organized around four easily understood Exchange Network interactions: requesting data, submitting documents, downloading documents and sending notifications.
- ENDS integration - The NodeClientLite application is integrated with EPA's Exchange Network Data Services (ENDS), while still supporting the management of user's own endpoints, services and parameters directly through the user interface. In addition, the new NodeClientLite also provides for sharing of this metadata across multiple clients.
- Integrated Node test utility - One of the NodeClientLite extended tools aiding in the verification of remote endpoints' compliance with the EPA-defined Exchange Network specifications.
- Full NAAS integration - The new NodeClientLite supports NAAS-only and remote endpoint authentication in test and production deployments.
- Improved security - All user metadata including the saved credentials are now locally encrypted using Triple DES 192-bit encryption.
- Built-in update process - As new NodeClientLite features become available, the application's automatic, self-update process will allow each client installation to stay up to date.
- New and updated user interface.
Note, a basic understanding of the purpose and function of the Exchange Network is needed in order to be able to use this application effective. Please refer to documentation available at the Exchange Network Web site for more information.
